About This Project
The new owners of this well built house from the early 1960s wanted to expand and open up their house to suit modern family living. They wanted a large open plan kitchen / dining area, a lounge / tv area, a downstairs loo with shower and a utility /laundry room. The design was to remove a large section of the original back wall to give access to the new extension. Part of the original kitchen became the new utility room and bathroom. A double pitch roof with high windows gave plenty of light in to the new lounge and the kitchen opened out to the patio area which was paved in a similar tile as the kitchen. Upstairs the separate bathroom and W.C. were opened in to one and the hot press was eliminated creating a large main bathroom. Access to the large rear garden was maintained through the garage and side passage.
